Through their project, “Protect and Preserve: The DTLA Piñata District” Alonso has taken the opportunity to highlight an important cultural space for the Latinx community of Los Angeles. The project consists of an artistic installation incorporating photography and a soundscape and allows participants to interact with different sensory stimulants to help create a personal connection to a space.
